Using links or URLs is a great way to supply additional information to your users without crowding a webpage. It can take users to a different website for more information or showcase other images. There are several ways to embed a link into a webpage, but the most popular are through text or a photo.

Linking text
From your wordpress dashboard select the page or post you'd like to edit. From there select the text box you'd like to edit and highlight the text that needs to be linked.
Then select the link icon and then the settings cog. Enter the URL including www. Then chose if you'd like the link to open a new window or the same window. The rule of thumb we follow is if someone is being taken off of your website open in a new tab. If they will be staying on your site and going to a different page open in the same window. Select save and update and your text will be linked.

Linking an image
Start by adding your image to your post or page.
From your wordpress dashboard select the page or post you'd like to edit. From there select the image you'd like to link.
Select the image so there is a grey box outlining the image.
Then select the link icon and then the settings cog. Enter the URL including www. Then chose if you'd like the link to open a new window or the same window. The rule of thumb I follow is if someone is being taken off of your website open in a new tab. If they will be staying on your site and going to a different page open in the same window.
Select save and update and your text will be linked.
